Sea Urchin Sticker

Sea urchins are spiny marine invertebrates, closely related to sand dollars and starfish. They are snacked on by sea otters, sea stars and large fish, and you might find urchin roe in your sushi.

While plague has brought some urchin species to the brink of extinction, other species are threatening kelp forest habitat due to over-population! As always, conservation rests in balance. To learn more, check out WildCoast.org.
